FOUNDATIONS
Jade Bultitude
I am the creator of Music Theory Foundations.

As a professional musician and teacher, I been helping musicians with performance and music theory for over 15 years.

I have supported hundreds of students to become better musicians.

I've also helped many students to understand music theory and how it can make them a better performer.

My students has achieved great things in ABRSM performance and music theory exams.
Things Were Not Always That Way...
When I first started teaching music theory I struggled.

Even though I understood the concepts it was difficult to break them down for my students.

I felt like I was teaching them 'tricks' that didn't show them the power of music theory.

I didn't understand how music theory would make me a better player.

I tried a lot of different things… nothing seemed to work…

I spent a small fortune on books, training and  research until I finally discovered what truly works and what doesn't work.

Fast Forward To Today
My approach to music theory has been so successful that my husband (Sal) and I have decided to create Music Theory Foundations.

We make a great team as we bring different skills together to get the best results for students.

I am a professional flautist, originally from Hertfordshire, UK. I hold a MMus degree along with several other music and teaching qualifications, including the FTCL, LRSM, BMus(hons) and the DipABRSM. Having taught from early years to university level, I enjoy adapting my teaching for all age groups and abilities.

Salman Whittaker is a Maths specialist and educator originally from Birmingham, UK. He holds many qualifications in education, including a Graduate Certificate in Instructional Design and a Masters Degree in Maths teaching. Having learnt music as a child, music theory was the stumbling block into entry for those higher heights in understanding.

We enjoy breaking down difficult concepts and making the accessible to all learners. This is our guiding philosophy when teaching Music Theory.
